O que aconteceu
On 24 October, soldiers from the special-purpose company «Болгаричі» of the 11th Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard delivered 15 packages to occupied Olshky using drones and parachute drops. The packages weighed more than 600 kg in total and contained dry breakfasts, milk, educational games and toys. The aid was intended for families with children. The delivery was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
The operation took place against the background of a humanitarian blockade in Olshky, where children who were born after the beginning of the full-scale war reportedly remain. The Ukrainian and Russian sides agreed to temporarily halt hostilities to enable the humanitarian mission and the preparation of a safe civilian evacuation. The General Staffs of both countries announced a silence regime from 03:00 Kyiv time on 27 October, with Ukraine, Russia and the United States monitoring compliance.
O que dizem as fontes ucranianas
Materiais ucracianos concentram-se na operação da Guarda Nacional, na participação das unidades de propósito especial, no conteúdo e no peso dos pacotes e nos destinatários. They also highlight the humanitarian blockade, the presence of children, the limited reach of food deliveries and the continuing institutional and international efforts around humanitarian aid and evacuation. The delivery is presented as a concrete humanitarian action by Ukrainian security forces within the broader crisis in occupied Olshky.
Onde as versões divergem
As fontes divergem em dois pontos: a data de início do cessar-fogo para a missão humanitária em Olshky é indicada como 27 ou 29 de outubro. The number of blocked residents is also estimated differently: more than 6,000 in the city and nearby district, or about 1,700 in the destroyed city itself.
Contexto
Olshky remains under humanitarian blockade and on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. More than 6,000 residents may remain in the city and nearby district, including about 200 children, though another estimate puts the number blocked in the destroyed city at around 1,700. Ukrainian troops have previously delivered food to Olshky twice by drone; during the second delivery, they supplied nearly 400 packages of food, medicines and children's kits weighing 4 tons. On 16 September, Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said Russia had long failed to confirm readiness for an evacuation mission. He later met online with Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova to discuss agreed details of the mission. Ukrainian and Russian sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire for humanitarian aid and the safe evacuation of civilians. Pope Leo XIV called Vladimir Putin to urge a truce for the evacuation of Olshky residents and subsequently contacted President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. European Parliament First Vice-President Pina Picierno ended a hunger strike she had started on 20 October to draw attention to the humanitarian situation.
