Áustria liberaREP journalists arrested in Vienna while investigating former Ukrainian prosecutor
Austrian authorities arrested Ukrainian journalist Mykhailo Tkach and cameraman Yaroslav Bondarenko in Vienna on October 8, accusing them of espionage on behalf of Ukraine’s military intelligence. The journalists said they were searching for former prosecutor general Ruslan Kravchenko, who left Ukraine for Austria days earlier. Austrian authorities later acknowledged a key identification error, confirmed that Bondarenko had no links to military intelligence personnel, and released the journalists.
